Notes of a bonsai maker
When I went to Kitanomaru Park, which is located by the emperor’s palace, to take a walk, I saw many sprigs falling down from the sky as if they ware flying.
Every time the wind blew, many sprigs was sliding in the air and landing.
This is called cladoptosis. It takes form of inflorescence.
It is clear from this picture, Zelkova Serrata’s inflorecence has some leafs.
And there are some seeds between branch and leaf.
These leaves give cladoptosis a lifting force.
Mt.Eboshiyama has 162 meters high. It may too small to call it mountain.
At the top of the mountain, there is a shrine and several trees of juniper in front of it.

Mt.Fuji reflects the setting sun.
At Heda in Izu peninsula where is located across Pacific ocean from south of mt.Fuji.
Forest of Fagus crenata, which is called Buna in Japan.
The roots of Buna trees are bent under the weight of the snow.
This place has so heavy snowfalls that the area has been recoded by guinness world records.
